TOBAGO GETS ITS CAMERA ‘CLOSE-UP’
IN “DREAM HOTELS”
The Trinidad and Tobago Film Company (TTFC), in conjunction with the Division of Tourism of the Tobago House of Assembly is pleased to welcome the Lisa Film Production crew, from Vienna, Austria to Trinidad and Tobago for the on-location film production entitled, “Dream Hotels” which will be filmed on location in Tobago from 1-28 June 2010.
Over the past few months the TTFC and the THA have worked closely with the “Dream Hotels” crew to ensure that all their on location needs in Tobago were met. TTFC’s provided facilitation services to the production which included the posting of the bond for the temporary importation of “Dream Hotel” film equipment to the placement of on-location interns on the production.
The “Dream Hotels” production is one of several international film productions that have selected Trinidad and Tobago as a film location in 2010. With the on-location filming by “Dream Hotel” in Tobago, local merchants will enjoy increased revenues from this production through expenditure on hotels, restaurants, purchases from local retail stores, the hire of transportation and the payment for all other supplies and services and Tobagonians will be given the opportunity for employment as members of the cast and crew.
TTFC is the national agency mandated to develop the local film and television industry and to promote Trinidad and Tobago as a premier film location. The TTFC provides support to all film and television projects filming on location in Trinidad and Tobago with film permits, access to locations, casting calls and information on local crews, equipment and services.
“Dream Hotels” is a mini television series produced by Lisa Film Productions, an Austrian based production house specializing in the development of feature films, TV movies, and television series. The Tobago episode of "Dream Hotels" will be aired in thirteen (13) countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland in January 2011 and allows European audiences to take a fantasy trip to Tobago. It is hoped that visitor arrivals from Europe will increase from the screening of the film in Europe.
